My Approach

About Peg

Raised on a farm in Northeast Iowa, Peg received her CNA certification after taking the 1982 summer course taught by her mother at the local community college.  Peg received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa in 1986, and her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the Graduate College of the University of Iowa in 1988.

After several years of successful development and application of the scope and efficacy of outpatient care at the Atrium Clinic of Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, Peg accepted a position as Clinic Manager and Primary Therapist at H&W Therapy in Carbondale, Colorado, becoming the only Physical Therapist between Glenwood Springs and Basalt at that time.  The work of caring for the locally-rooted ranchers and miners and their families in collaboration with some of the most caring primary care physicians and skilled orthopedic surgeons in the world, drew Peg into the valley community to stay. Over the past 30+ years, her work in the Roaring Fork Valley has encompassed staff management, directorship, and the provision of skilled care in outpatient, nursing home, hospital, home health and horse barn settings from Parachute to Aspen. Roles have included being the first Physical Therapist hired by Heritage Park Care Center, developing and implementing its outpatient and in-house patient-rehab and staff-training programs, and being the founding therapist and director of Columbine Home Health’s rehabilitation department.

Peg’s current private practice Physical Therapy Delivered blends direct care (assessment and treatment for all sorts of conditions, in clients’ homes, in the gym or club, and the slopes and trails, as well as in her Woody Creek office), with consultant offerings including training and education programs for skilled healthcare providers as well as non-medical personal care workers.
